Abbie Werner James is a writer, licensed behavior specialist, and nature enthusiast. She is the author of Autism and Appropriate Touch: A Photocopiable Resource for Helping Children and Teens on the Autism Spectrum Understand the Complexities of Physical Interaction, published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers in 2015. Her short story “Salt and Pepper” won second place in the 2017 Central PA Magazine Writing Contest, and her story “Strainers” was published in Owl Hollow Press’s anthology, Frontiers: Then, Now, and Beyond, in 2021. She is an SCBWI critique group leader and works in youth services at a public library.
